Australia v. Ireland: Rugby, Perth

Post 1

Ferino

Hello!

Where do I start?
I am about to kick off a round the world trip. I'm leaving the UK on 3rd May and heading for South Africa. On 31st May I land in Perth at the start of about 6 months in Australia (and I can't wait!)

I have found out that the Irish rugby team are due to play in Perth against the Wallabies on 7th June (at the Subiaco Oval, if memory serves) but I can't find out anything else about it and I hope somebody can help!

Is it likely that i'll be able to pick up a ticket for the game in the week prior to it? If so, where do I do this?
Where will the nightlife be? It'll be the first chance to get out on a Saturday, so i'd like it to be good! (Obviously if I could get the inside track on where to bump into the teams that'd be the icing on the cake...!!)

I hope some of you can give me a spot of advice on the whole thing.
smiley - cheers
Ferino

Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer...

Australia is definately playing Ireland in Perth on 7/6.

I can't really help you in regards to Perth nightlife, being from Sydney.

Given Perth isn't a huge rugby town i would have thought you would be able to get your hands on a ticket one way or another. There will no doubt be ads in the press telling you where tickets can be purchased from. Other travellers will also probably be able to tell you.

Sorry i can't be more help.

Have a great tripsmiley - cheers

Thanks for the info, linus. Much appreciated.

(I dunno what the last message was about? Perhaps you have been thrown by the Viewer tag I'm using on my PS - puts in the name of the person reading it??)

I've found out that the tickets for the game in Perth go on sale on 5th May, so I'll see if it's possible to buy them online and also get in touch with the Union in Oz for their advice.

All I have to do now is try to sort out tickets for some of the World Cup games and I'll be flying!

Yes it was from your PS. I was wondering why my name was on there, and in full.

Good news re the rugby.

don't forget to tell us when you are going to be in Sydney, as a smiley - ale or two might be in order.
