whats the point in life

The answer, of course, is right in the palm of your hand. So let's have a look. See it? No? That's because it's too small. Your hand is a city.

In that city are billions of inhabitants. They don't have names because they are only four dimensional creatures... they are insentient. What is important about them is this... over the next 7 years EVERY one of them will die. Of course they will have children to take their place, so your hand will be none the worse for wear.

Fortunately for us, we are sentient, so lets leave this planet for a moment and position ourselves just off the dark side of the moon (to keep the sun out of our eyes).

Look back at the earth. So warm and blue and soft isn't it? Look at how thin the atmosphere is. Almost all of the life on that ball lives in that thin little skin. It almost seems like a firm wind would blow it away like blowing the head off a beer. If it WAS blown away, all that would be left is a cold rocky orb like the one along side of us here.

Life is a BIG deal!

But, like the palm of your hand, it isn't what it seems to be. The slice of blue out there is a hand. Though you can't see it from here, there are trillions of inhabitants in that hand. A mere 5 billion or so are called people. They DO have names because they are 6 dimensional creatures and are sentient... they know they are alive.
But there are 11 or so dimensions, so even though they know they are alive, they don't actually know why. The sixth dimension, as it turns out, is sentience. So they can grok it and the five dimensions beneath, but they have a complete black out of the five dimensions above.

No matter. Since they cannot effect matters in those dimensions anyway, a six dimensional answer will do just fine, thank you.

Life evolves...physically...for a very good reason - survival. The latest and greatest life gadget on earth is the bicameral mind which has been quite cleaverly packaged in the heads of people. This mind has the means to perceive 6 dimensions. It's too soon to tell if this gadget will live up to it's clippings, but it has a very crucial role in the survival of life.

Look at that fragile blue ball again. It doesn't just look fragile...it IS fragile. It may survive for many peoplelives, but, celestially, peoplelives are milliseconds. The importance of the sentience tool is that it is the only thing in this universe that can extend the existence of that warm blue sliver of life.

Sentience, it seems, understands the language of God. That language is called mathematics and with it, that lifelight over there can be extended to the infinite. It can be carried and spread throughout the universes and provide the wholebody of life with a chance to evolve to even higher dimensions.

But the clock is ticking. A good enough computer could fix the time that the ball and its precious glow will vanish. Even as we speak, some other celestial body bears down on it and its heatsource continues to expend its finite resources.

The point of your life? To leave your gaia none the worse for wear.

I'm just going to drop this one into the Ether..Hello, I'm brand spanking new, I was trying to write out that nice introduction thingy but realized I hate introductions, salutations, foreplay..The whole lot is most assuredly over-rated, except maybe that last part, just never got that bit right. At any rate, this little oddly-entitled post beat me down with nostalgia and I realized my two cents may be helpful, and I'm not talking about copper-Lincoln heads.

My guidance is this, (while I'm going to skip the little disclaimer so eloquently placed in MOSTLY HARMLESS about one's advice can only be as good as the life he/she lived) think about life and death for as long as you can before you realize you may be slightly if not completely insane..that should take about three years, depending on your original state of mind walking into this project, now I'm not saying devote every minute to it, just think about it--every day if possible, if only for maybe a few minutes. Things like, "Wow, one day I'm going to die, and depending on my belief structure/reality I may/most assuredly will lose the ability to perceive, well, anything! Goodbye Seeing, Smelling, Hearing, etc. (those other ones are just for show anyway) Now, for some reason that little bit always has the crowd ready to jump up claiming they've, "found perspective" No,no,no my friends..Because that's just death. If you're really going to ask things like, "what(')s the point in life" Then you have to be prepared for one whopper of an answer, or at least a redesigned question. I want you to think about Life, be like Peter Pan and go find some Happy Thoughts..Then every once and a while go like this, "Wow! When I'm dead, I'll never do x(x being you're happy thought and "do" only being a relative term) again!!" After this bout of moping about, question quality over quantity..Do you enjoy the idea of being 103 and possibly something more science-fictiony than even Adams could imagine? All Darth Vadery in your respirator and little bag which replicates Astronaut's suits? Then, I recommend but certainly do not condone, endorse, or relate to the BBC in anyway, go get hammered in your own little way..Be it a pub or opiates den, I don't care..Because all that misery is going to love some company..AND THEN FINALLY!! Well, just read the above posts because living life is much better than questioning it, most of the time. (See also Death and why everyone brings it up when waxing philosophical about life)
