talking donut (he walks, he talks, he sings the blues) Started conversation Jan 9, 2005
If I sat on one side of the room, then moved to the other side of the room and time traveled back one minute before, would I be back on the other side of the room?
Would I be staring at myself with a teleportation device strapped to my frosty glaze side?
I mean, sure it seems odd that a talking_donut would be experiencing these types of emotions, but truthfully it's all I ever think about.
Would there be two donuts, or just one?
And if there would be two, at what point in the actual breach in time would the other donut split apart from me. And then ask yourself this...which one of us is... real? OMG! It's a mind blowing paradox! Wonko would be so proud of me!

Isn't that the whole doppelganger thing? If you see each other one or both of you would cease to exist..

Everyone sees time as a simple thing with a future, present and past and that it would be as easy to travel between those as it is to put your finger on the diffrent words there.
This will of course only work if a future or past exists. A now exists, but we don't know if a past is just now's that have ceased exisist or if the future is now's not yet created.
Some do travel in time, or at least say they do, both back and forth. But they don't travel using the body, but the mind. This might be because they are seeing the time as a concept and not a part of the physical dimension before it is now.
I don't see any logical explenation to how we can make the then to now.
And you can't grow in the past, you grew in the past. So if you plan on going to the past then you will grew in the now.. or something. A play on words and maybe concepts. Too tired to think more about this now. Good night ^.^;

simple..
The short answer...No, you would not see yourself.
Douglas Adams had it right (OF COURSE) when he said you can dine at
Milliays as many times as you like without having to worry about meeting yourself.
Forget about such silly concepts as dopplegangers and two versions merging into each other should they make contact. The plain truth which anyone from the Galaxiat Proton Think Chamber would inform you is that by travelling back in time you satisfy a different mathematical probability for the continuation of the then present timeline. .Hence, you would not occupy the same probability frame as the one you occupied at the point from which you travelled....
If you are having problems grasping this just think of the following:
Are you the same person you were five minutes ago? Since, you have fresh memories (less than five minutes old) your brain is not the same as it was five minutes ago so, strictly speaking (and believe that this universe is VERY strict about such things) you are not the same person.... The argument is much more complex when concerning the universe...just make could use of a cupcake and you will discover for yourself...needless to say...you won't be on the same probability line as previously so you will not meet yourself...in fact, you could repeat the exercise and be assured that the chances of meeting yourself would be 2^grains on the beach at Southend..
Have fun
where's the tea!
