I'm very sorry, but a new policy just came into effect that banned discussions of the war on Iraq on h2g2. smiley - ok

Just to clarify, apparently there are other areas of BBCi that have been given over exclusively to 'War on Iraq' discussions. They're not just censoring, they're re-allocating resources and leaving h2g2 free to discuss the remaining 99% of the world not War-related.

Quite right - I should have added that it can be discussed on the BBCi message boards at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/h2/h2.cgi?x=yandamp;board=greatdebatesmiley - spacesmiley - smiley

does that mean that anti-french postings like the ones that have appeared a while ago because of a certain president's position about the war will not be allowed on h2g2 either?!...smiley - biggrin

It only applies to postings made since the policy was implemented earlier this evening. It isn't censorship. It is the BBC making administrative arrangements to facilitate the exacting standards of editorial control it is required to exercise according to its constitution in order to maintain a balance of the opinions it broadcasts and publishes.

yep.. i've read the page about it.. smiley - smiley

it also says that inflamatory postings against one side or another would not be allowed... but what about inflamatory postings against countries [and their people] who are refusing to go to war?!...smiley - smiley

if anti-french postings are still allowed then there will be a problem...

but, it's only a thought spoken outloud... i'm sure things will be ok... there have been a lot of improvement lately concerning nationalities bashing comments...smiley - smiley
