"baked" is not a synonym for potato but "jacket" is a synonym for potato. More than six hundred taxonomic labels have been created, superfluously it would seem, to describe the "potato plant" but none of these labels refers to the tuber that I would call a potato. It really is as simple as that.
I don't mean to disrespect Clive or anyone who has contributed to this thread but I thought that my observation was worth transcribing as an observation. Anyone who thinks I've been out of order is welcome to pay a foot-related, short, sharp visit to my love-spuds!
