Which is the odd one out and why???

Shall I throw myself into the minefield to clear the way for others?
Why not?
1. It's Admiral of the Fleet because the other two are Marshals.
2. It's Field Marshal because he isn't Field Marshal of anything and the other two are.
3. It's Marshall of the Air Force because there's only one of them, whereas there are more than one of the others.
That's part one correctly answered!!!

well two of them would be historic going back several hundred years.. Marshal of the Royal Air Force. is/was brought in to service within 100 years. Do know or think that the rank is also not attainable at the moment as there is not a war on,

Actually, I'll risk klaxons: The Queen is not a Field Marshal, but she is the other two.

2 ideas:
One can't be made a Field Marshall any more.
There could be more than one Field Marshall at a time as it was a slightly honoury title, whereas the other 2 are head of their respective services, so there can only be 1 at a time.
