1. What is being made in this factory?
2. Where is it located?
3. In which year was the picture taken?

I have three klaxons (one for each question) smiley - smiley

Happy to answer yes/no-type questions about it, but not today.

smiley - wah I can't view it from work! Instead I'm going to guess, given the absolute zero amouint of information given in the post. smiley - biggrin

1. Corsets
2. Shrewsbury
3. 1934

Reasoning? I read the other day that there used to be a factory in Shrewsbury, and the brand name was Sillouette. They used to make swimming costumes and things as well. There was a musical based on the lives and times of the factory and its workers. It was first performed at the end of last year. Had I had enough holiday spare, I would have signed up to be part of it. smiley - smiley

Good guesses - even if you can't see the picture.

Not correct, though you've skilfully avoided the klaxons smiley - smiley

Would this have anything to do with the reason Carlisle pubs were so unique up until the 1970s?

And if I'm right, I want the points for making it bleedin' obvious what the answers are smiley - winkeye

Er... I don't know anything about Carlisle pubs, but interesting factory facts will score points, of course. smiley - smiley

Ooh, more shooting in the dark:

Cars
Bells
Clocks
Munitions

I must have tripped at least one klaxon there, surely?

My first impulse on seeing the title was Andy Warhol, but this obviously has nothing at all to do with him, has it?

It looks more WW1 to me...wasn't tthat the first time women took "men's" jobs? Up until then they'd only done "women's work" in factories. The lack of labour during the first world war was the first step in breaking down tradition demarcations of what different genders could do.

If they're not making munitions, then they'll be making something else to help contribute to the war effort? The machinery looks like sewing machines, so is it uniforms?

Well, if it's wartime and we're supposed to guess the year, then I'd say 1917 or 1918, in the USA?

I'll give clues tomorrow - I'll see how far you lot can get by detective work first. Nobody's particularly close so far.
