Sir Everard Digby, Thomas Wintour, Thomas Bates and John Grant were hung, drawn and quartered for their part in the Gunpowder Plot. The crime they were convicted of was 'Conspiracy to Treason' They were executed in 1606.
Adolf Hitler was the Dictator who came to power, in Germany in 1933.
Mahatma Ghandi was the World leader who was assassinated, in 1948.
Big Ben was silenced for the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill in 1965.
King Charles I was beheaded for treason in 1649
