Good thread.
Lots of interesting thoughts to ponder.
Good to see people thinking outside the Boxing day.

To summarise:
For 26 years, US company PNC Wealth Management has calculated the cost of the items in the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" if purchased at current prices.
This year is the most expensive year for that measure at $87,402.81.
The most expensive single item is a swan which at $750 is considerably cheaper than the $1000 it would have cost in 1984.
The cheapest item is the maid-a-milking who is charged at minimum wage rate of $7.25 per hour.
