Well I finally heard back from the doctors today, they phoned me this morning asking me to come in, So this afternoon I went round, to find out that they think I might have PCOS, apparently my testosterone level is 2.4 and they like it to be below 1.9 this and my other symptoms suggest PCOS. I have been referred for a Scan to confirm.
I found some more information on PCOS here http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Polycystic-ovarian-syndrome/Pages/Introduction.aspx
any help, advice or anything else anyone wishes to give right now would be muchly appreciated, I'm not sure if I should be scared or not.

mini, if it does turn out that you have PCOS, a low carb diet might help diminish the symptoms. I'll await the result of your scan first though

I'm afraid it's not my specialist area, but hopefully if they've found a reason, that's a start on sorting it out.

I think the main impact it has on people's lives (and of course you aren't diagnosed yet) is that it can make getting pregnant more difficult. Not impossible though.
Hang in there, mouse.

I'm afraid that I don't know anybody that has been troubled by this. But I'll try to send positive thoughts your way.

As far as I'm aware it's quite common, but still annoying - and it's been suggested as being the cause of my hormonal issues as well. If that is indeed the case, we should compare notes...
anyway. A diagnosis is a good start; now they can treat it.
