I've been seeing toads in several parts of the park lately. Imagine my joy at seeing two of them hoping across my front walk. You are welcome, little toads. I love you!
I've been hearing fireworks all evening, so I finally went out my front door to see if any were visible. Turns out that if you look in the right place, you can see the highest ones.
And above it all, there's a big, gorgeous, almost orange full moon. I've never seen it this big and beautiful before.

It must have been a very lovely experience to watch the leaping toads from your front garden. The huge full moon with fireworks going off in the distance must have made it a magical experience.
I have a home-made pond (for my wildlife garden)with pond plants in which I use to attract insects and frogs, but sadly I never found any frog spawn in my pond. It is hard work topping up with treated tap water as we have had hardly any rain in the borough of Thurrock.

Funny you should say that just now, Rosa. I managed to go shopping and hanging my washings to dry inside my shed in the ten minutes it was dry and sunny after hours of light drizzle.
Then the ominous majestic dark clouds above me suddenly opened
And now all is quiet again. It's like April came late this year. Or made a triumphant return

I'm happy you enjoy the toads! I love all amphibians. Not many are around right now ... but I was on an outing a couple of weeks ago to Venda, a warm place, and there we saw many frogs, of three species: tropical clawed frogs, common river frogs, and a puddle frog. The river frogs were even mating, in the middle of winter!

Depending on how mild the winters are, that might be a good time. I think that frog eggs can survive some light freezing.
