The annoying habit of many television drama programs (mainly but not exclusivly ones from the USA) of starting every episode with "Previously on ...." and then a few minutes of recapitulation of stuff from previous weeks.

Now I don't know about anyone else but I've got this thing called a memory which lets me remain aware of things that have happened in the past.

Now, not having much of a memory, and usually not together enough to sort out a drink etc before the programme starts, I don't mind the 'previously on..' section but I have recently taken alarmingly complex measures to avoid seeing the 'Next week on..' bit at the end as watching this is just messing with the laws of time and space. For example, an evil professor could, I'm sure, record and edit this section thus rendering next week dramatically altered before I've even got round to thinking about what to have for breakfast tomorrow. It's the thin end of the time-travelling wedge.

It might be a slight exaggeration to say that I have taken 'alarmingly complex steps', a more accurate version would have me 'turning the telly off'. Drastic, but not complex, unless the remote is in the mouth of an alligator and the telly is ...

Glad I'm not the only one whose alligator steals the remote. I'm with the Inspector on this - if I want to know what's on next weeks show I'll tune in next week smiley - ok
