I do think all this here is a bit single-sided.

Moderation has been running for a while now, and a huuuuge lot of opinions and feelings from *our* point of view has been posted here and elsewhere. I just wonder what *the mods* are thinking about all this!

I think it would be a great idea to have some kind of Talking Point among the beloved squacks [oops, 'scuse me] and have *them* tell *us* what *they (ie: you over there)* are thinking about...

- having to read lots of weird and incoherent stuff;
- the mental state of h2g2 researchers;
- being fed one posting at a time, without ever seeing everything within its context (I suppose that it is this way, please correct me!);
- being target of rants without a chance to answer;
- being offered opportunities for pistol duels under oak trees at 05am;
- whatnot and A.O.B.

Did they ever get some insight purely from doing what they are supposed to do?

Did any of the ****s visit the site in their spare time in order to make up their minds?

Is any of the Moderators willing to confess they have an alter ego which signed up as a researcher? If so, why?

Of course, all this is to be done on conditions of anonymity smiley - winkeye.

I would love to hear from you! (*this is not a joke*)

a girl called Ben

Here here. Me too.

I must admit, I have wondered whether any of our fellow researchers keep body and soul together by moderating. Anonyminity would be ESSENTIAL on this one of course.

And is it an interesting job, or a boring one?

People want to know.

I'm not really here

I heard that of all the sites that the moderators moderate, they particularly enjoy moderating h2g2. Because we're fun I guess!! smiley - smiley
I have often thought they must think half of us are really weird, and the other half in need of a little care in the community.

They've got a direct line to Peta (& the others at the Towers), so Peta could set up an entry. [Of course, after due moderation smiley - winkeye]

Fragilis - h2g2 Cured My Tabular Obsession

Theoretically, a Moderator could email Shazz and the entry could be featured in the h2g2 Post. Since it is an online newspaper, it would be appropriate for Shazz to keep her Moderator 'Deep Throat' anonymous.

Peta

Hi

As I've said before, the moderators aren't going to post on h2g2, it really wouldn't be constructive.

I have had feedback from them though and they've told me that they really enjoy moderating h2g2, and they think a lot of the postings and entries are really funny and really entertaining. h2g2 rocks as far as they are concerned.

As far as I know, none of the moderators are Researchers, but it is possible that some of them have since joined, and are participating in their spare time.
