You want to fight me over it? Hey, I'm the newcomer here! You're supposed to be nice to me, right? (Maybe I'm in the wrong thread...) Well, I still want that piece of cake- it sounds like it's worth fighting for!

Well! its quite hard to keep track of all the conversations' threads, but I am sure I will be able to sort it all out after a bit more viewing.
I must say that the idea of h2g2 is a greatone - people seem to be getting further and further apart in life physically, but can now be drawn together electronically. Progress or not?
All the same, I think its about time I took a more active part in this community so here is a long and rambling welcome - I think I've said enough.
Except hi there all h2g2 users old and new; I'm glad to be a member of this community -
There I've done it - first time I've ever written in public.

And remember that what is really important is that you guys can contribute to the Guide - we would be really chuffed if you would write us some guide entries!

Count me in.
I'm a pristine carte blanche ready to be challenged.
Make me think...
Please.

Hi Crusty! Welcome to the wacky world of h2g2!
One or two tips for writing articles:
1) Make it unique. If someone else has already written an article on the same subject, you'll just end up covering the same ground. And if you're trying to get your articles approved (edited), there'll be less chance if there's an existing entry. However, don't be afraid put something in a forum if you've got something to add to an existing entry - the world is an ever-changing place, and h2g2 has to reflect that as much as possible!
2) Don't plagiarise other people work! Not only is it illegal, but it's a bit pointless - we want to be unique!
3) Check out the guidelines for writing articles at http://www.h2g2.com/Writing-Guidelines
But above everything else - enjoy yourself! (help yourself to cake - it's quite nice!)
