And I make no apology. I just had my first satsuma of the year and it was BLISSFUL. The smell itself was divine and the taste was gorgeous.

Afraid it is! And halloween's out of the way now so it's full tilt towards the season of good will. Roll on the 21st December (winter solstice is when my folks do the food and drinky thing )

And I'm sorry, but I do love the spangle and the smells and the cold and the roasted chestnuts and the mincemeat and the shortbread and the... and the...


It's just a feast for the senses, especially if you dont buy into the whole buying lots of things for everyone thing. I like buying presents for people, I just hate the whole 'I have to spend £100 on each of my children, to the penny' ethos. Sod that, make em happy by paying attention tot hem and helping them appreciate what winter's all about. Enjoying each other's company (or not! Do what you need to do! Dont judge each other!)

I'm goign to really try and get into the Christmas spirit this year... AFterall now I've not got a job, I'm seriously considering taking the santa claws job at the local shopping centr eof doom and dispair ... guess I oughta think about growning a beard
Christmas is great , all the dark beer, winter ales, porters, milds, stouts, then there is the mulled wine, red wine and champaign, plus the Christmas vodka and whisky, G&T is a Christmas drink relaly, brandy in your coffee Xmas morning, minced pies, brandy cream, whisky chocklate, brandy truffles, vodka biscuits, and vermouth cakes, rum and rasin bars, beer, Xmas pud with brandy and brandy cream and cream, sausage rolls, and brandy snaps with cream, celery sticks and white wine sorbay, cherry tomato vodka cocketails, father falling into the Christmas tree, vodka supprize, and whisky with a cheery on top, plus cocktails, turkey sandwichs, venison steak, ham carved off the bone with Jack danials mustard, pickled onions, pickled eggs, pickled red cabbage and nuts, vodka and nuts and whisky cakes, and cream, pigs in blankets, presents under the tree err under where fahter has fallen over, seeing relitives and havinga drink, and then there is goign to the pub to consider, cold air, warm mince pies, mulled wine, Belgium choc biscuits given by an aunty no one even remembers, and hot whisky and cream, and then there is the carrol singers and the warmed mulled wine and minced pies, and stuffing, and sprouts, and sptrout vodka occketails, and pgame pie, and cracking open nuts, and the satsumas, and those funny ickle choc decorations on the tree, err which fater has fallen into, and then its new years eve and time to start all over again

See! Where's the worry about all of that?
