CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Nov 8, 2008
We'll need some nibbles for the afternoon, after the lunch....
Smoked salmon and cucumber sandwich, natch,
Crab teraine, and pate of course, some dips, garlic dip, mushroom dip, a tomato dip (two one spicey one less hot), mint cucumber dip, some differnt salsa, plus diping things; breadsticks, celery stick, carrots, sausages, just the useual stuff....
Some of the breaded whole cheese-stuffed chili peppers (they're )
Some cheese straws, parmazan cheese bites, sausage rolls, sausages on sticks, mini pastys, mini samosas mini pastrys, my giant cornish pastys (in a minature verison if I can figure out how to make em smaller)
Some pickles; gherkins, pickled onions, pickled eggs, etc, plus chutney, and more dip of course, and pickle...
Cheese board, and biscuits for the cheese, unsalted French Butter,
nuts, some in shells, and some mixed nuts not in shells...
Quiche, of course, must have quiche, or flan for those who live 'up north'
cream cheese dip, how could I forget the cream cheese dip.... best do a smoked salmon and cream cheese dip too, as that will go well with the stuffed battered mushrooms, (crenalini and button mix I think)
Cheese.... something says we need more cheese....
Some sweet things too.....
jelly and icecream, triffle, batenburg cakes, victoria sponge, trifle, shortbread, double cream, brandy cream sauce, choc brownies, and maybe some choc guirl guides too
Hmm.... I'm thinking strong reds... maybe some port again, but probably some relaly good Rioja grand reserva, maybe a rioja Hemancia creanica say a 97 or 99 would probably be good... or maybe something even more spicier.... prhaps a 2001 grand reserva
And, some champaign for later on tut that will be cooling... ver qu qo (which I can't spell but can* drink)
Then its just the main evening meal to worry about

Relax Pierce, just breathe deeply, it'll make any flammable fumes go away quicker and reduce the smell.

Firstly, I dont like salmon (sorry!) so that means there's plenty more for everyone else, and secondly, can we do this Polish style? Apparently they traditionally just have food non-stop for three days or some such. When you visit friends and relatives you take food, they'l bring food... It's a big orgy of culinary fun!
