What I would really like in my christmas stocking is never going to happen. I would really like a PS2. But it's impossible to get one anywhere around chicago.

I think it's impossible to get one anywhere in America, pretty much.
What was Sony thinking? "This will be the hottest toy of the season, and to prepare for the biggest buying time of the year, we're going supply just enough units so only one in every ten people who want to give us their money will be able to do so."
Yeah...I think if I were in charge there, heads would roll.

Hell Yeah and a month before they released it they said they would only be able to make 500,000 instead of 1,000,000. That really pissed me off.

Yeah, I remember hearing that, too.
Supposedly the first day they came out someone put one on ebay and got a whole bunch for it. I think around $1500, but I'm not sure.
What amazes me is seeing Amazon.com's selling stats for the PS2. Every one of their batches has sold out in less than 2 minutes; some as quickly as 30 seconds.

Thats doing better than in the UK though, they were all gone before the official launch. All the distributers were allowing people to pre-buy them.

Yup, and taht backfired when sony cut the number of units going to the UK so taht half teh people who had re-orederd didn't get a PS2

Don't you guys remember the Cabbage Patch Doll? This was intentional...the less there are, the more you want it. It's marketing!

Yup, and making it look like an accident means we don't suspect (I actually don't want a PS2 since i heard bad things about its DVD playback quality)

True... but I want to get one in a few years. After they've made a few adjustments and the game companies figure out just how to push the machine's power and all that. Here's what I want in my stocking this year though. I want a new girlfriend..... Yeah I know that sounds pathetic, but it's my stocking dammit! And I want a couple of Michaelangelo's sculptures. Preferably a couple of his unfinished ones. I've always thought those wer his most dramatic.

Where? Where? WHERE? Oh I see...
Umm going on the grounds that it'd be far too predictable for me to suggest that Jenson Button would be a good gift I'm going with a Whistling Clanger that goes "wooowoowooawaaawawooo" and has a blue hat... Ooh and a trip to Monaco...and a private jet...with a yacht... and a BMW Z3 and umm...James Bond?

Ah yes! Water craft! Just how could I have forgotten? I live in Florida for gods' sakes. I add one of the wave-rider/seadoo personal water craft to my list.

I'd love a water craft but all I have nearby is a polluted river. I know. I want an ocean and a really nice tall ship.

Nope all these things are thought of, Santa puts down dust sheets and then uses magic to get rid of all the mess, it'll be fine
