Flirting online reminds me of a few special words of wisdom.......'Better to be silent and let them think you might be a fool than to flirt and make it obvious!'

And this is why?

If you're interested, let them know it by flirting with them.
It's as simple as that.

I took up flirting with cute waiters last year to get revenge on an ex boyfried and discovered what is possibly the best thing about going out to eat.

Why do we flirt? Is it our way of saying, "Hey, I wish to create new organic lifeforms with you"? Or just a way to pass the time?

A little bit of both, I'd say. Although because it gets used as a way to pass time, sometimes it's hard to tell whether you're being flirted with just to pass time or because someone's interested. And some people flirt without being aware that they're doing it, and sometimes you may think you're being flirted with because you'd like to be.
*Glances around at boring work environment* I wish someone would flirt with me right now. Although that would mean having customers in the store.
