Thinking it's time to move on...

Ya'll have been great. And I like the vast majority of you. And I hate the idea that the BBC doesn't know how to categorize this site, but at the same time, I'm really over the trolls that seem to be everywhere here. I'm tired of being insulted by people who don't know me, and who have no interest in anything but arguing and being jerks.
Not to mention that with two classes to teach and grade, a dissertation to finish revising, a job to find, and worrying about where to live after December...well, I don't know.
If I don't leave entirely, I'm going to have to reduce my time here. I don't think I can keep this up.

Please don't let one or two mindless idiots spoil things for you.
When things get a little too much for me, I tend to retreat to the easy going threads I have with my friends; The 'Yikes' thread might be silly, but it certainly cheers me up
I wish you luck with you dissertation

I hope you don't leave entirely, not at least before the site goes down with all hands (Bob forbid). Admittedly that's because I selfishly desire the continuation of your company in the Atelier etc., and your needs must come above such small potatoes.
and good luck with everything.

If it's that French idiot on Hyp's thread, please just ignore anything she posts. It's at times like these that I wish the BBC *had* implemented the bozo filter (ignoring all posts by a specific researcher).

You do have a lot on your plate right now. Completely understandable that you may need to step back a bit. But like Ti said, don't let bozo be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Despite her flippant response to your post on her page, she did take you seriously. Not that she is accepting any responsibility for her own compromised communication skills, but she opened a thread on Ask to solicit some input: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F19585?thread=6939386

Dang. I understand both issues, the troll and the genuine lack of time. I've flirted with the same idea on more than one occasion for the same reasons. Can you at least stay in the atelier?
I tried to contact you on Facebook but got a message that my page was down for maintenance.

Please stay. At least in the salon.

I understand your feelings for doing this and just ask that you maintain some presence in the Salon.

I'm not very active in the community at the moment....time and such.
So, I see your point.
But still I like to return and have a cup of in good company in the Outdoor Bar or listen to the interesting conversations in the Atelier, though I'm a couple of weeks behind in time.
I feel I ought to do more - that is what the community is about - but I really cannot at the time being.
All this about me to suggest that maybe you should let your personal responsibillity for the site slide a bit and just enjoy what is enjoyable.
I haven't encountered the troll's interference, only heard of it, and I think it will do my puls and patience no good to seek that experience.

Hi Montana,
Our paths don't cross very often, but I always appreciate your posts when I see them. I hope you can still come back and spend time here. The troll won't last, I hope you will.
cheers,
kea.
