h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I was sitting in the pit http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/info, minding my own business, playing some very loud music and reading some rather strange books.

I was wondering where the man with the drums was. After all, I've talked to him many times. I've even criticised his college work (maybe that's why he doesn't want to talk to me). And then I find he's over here basking in the glow from a bunch of sycophants.

Can anybody pass me a drink?

Have any of you noticed how I have been around less and less? Life requires me to work my fingers to the bone. I don't even know you all!

Home (noun, insubstantial) - the front page in a web site or a personal page within h2g2.

The winking owl you will have to seek out for yourself in the external Pit's talk pages, but if the conversation moves so fast that you can't find it, I'll make it a page for itself.

How long did it take you to make it?

About a week, but not exactly full time.

Constant consultation with the Mother of God (world designer to the best, if not the richest) helped a lot.

Drop in and leave a comment in the vistors' book. Bring a friend or six.

Maybe enough people will call. Maybe it'll be hard to handle the volume of suggestions.

At the moment it's just another web voice, crying in the wilderness.

Will do as soon as I finish learning how to wrap this damn kilt...
