Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~

I rode my bicycle 39 kilometers yesterday. I have promised myself to ride this exact route at least once a year until I die or can't do it no more for other reasons.
I used my regular bicycle, not the vintage racer they used to ride in le Tour de France. The tyres are too old and worn and might explode under me. I need to buy new ones.
Anyway while I was out there I thought about what to write on my home page about my tour and in the end came up with this combo of thoughts from my countrymen Hans Christian Andersen and Soeren Kierkegaard:

"Cycling is moving - not moving will take you nowhere" smiley - zen

While I'm at it I might as well take this opportunity to throw in a couple of other deep thoughts I've recently found on the web:

"Beer is God's way of telling us he loves us and wants us to be happy." [attributed to Benjamin Franklin]

"Whisky is God's way of telling us He's sorry and wants to apologize." [another good friend of the spirits]

In heaven there is no beer.
That's why we drink it here

A large branch from my neighbor's mulberry tree hangs over the entrance to my backyard shed. I've already picked a goodly amount of berries from it, and still more berries have fallen on the ground, where they are fermenting. The birds and bunnies must be gorging on the berries and enjoying themselves.

You can't beat nature. smiley - ok

I'm looking forward to the Danish tour.

One of the mountains in the French tour has an increase of 24 percent, but even if we are very small and in general very flat country we can boast of one having 25 percent!

I thought cycling would do the same to mine but no such luck. You need to eat and drink so much to have an appropriate amount of calories to burn that you hardly lose weight whilst cyckling.

That's why many elite cyclists go on a strict diet right after xmas in order to have as little weight as possible to transport up the French mountains smiley - geek
