Due to various circumstances I have decided it might be best if I were to transfer from Minister for Wisdom, Linux & Toothbrushes to Minister for Evil. What do you think? With any luck it'll be a mite more useful than my old role, and fits nicely with my Museship.

* shrugs *
Want to take over the Ministry? That's fine by me, but I want to be Minister for Evil.

You might want to coordinate with the Princess of Darkness on that one...

Hey there guys!
I'd just like to add a quick pointer:
I noticed that my name in the Cabinet is The Big C, and there isn't a link to my page. Hence, could you please do the following things:
1) Change my Cabinet name to Pr. C. Tonks
2) Link to my page through my name at U116693
3) Link to the Ministry for Science and Technology at A453881
4) Link to the San Betian Embassy also at A453881
Thanks a lot! I'm having a speech from me appear in next issue of The Post...

Oooh I've started a trend for speeches have I? That's nice. I feel all warm and fuzzy now. This is bad!
I'd better go off and do something Evil.

Oh my! We can't have Ministers doing the opposite of their office!
It would be like me going to the Stone Age...

Well I don't know... if I came with you we could introduce modern technology on one side of a war in return for enternal slavery. That would be Evil, at least.

Hmm...yes, true...
But I'm not into Evilness myself, I have to admit. I don't mind it as such, as I can always retaliate, but I have had my fair share of it - in the shape of the Morphs...
They're not Evil, just plain evil, as in killing off other races and mixing others together in experiments to their own ends. And destroying their master!
Oh, I'm- oh dear, I'm talking about my book again...

You think they're nasty? You should meet the Xathras. Although they're not really evil as such, just victims of two rather old people trying to save the universe, who could be seen as evil if you chose to look at it that way. However, without their actions it is arguable most of the matter in the universe would have fallen apart, so despite the billions of deaths they've caused over the last twenty thousand years or so, the general consensus is that they did the right thing. Life's hard, sometimes.

Evil did good? Hmm, kind of defeats the object of it...
The Morphs haven't caused that many deaths, but they have only been in existance for about 11 or 12 Earth years...

Part of the idea of the story is that the Xathras aren't actually evil at all. They used to be a fairly pleasant race until they got corrupted through the machinations of one of the main characters. Now they're a theocracy dominated by the idea that they are the superior race, and that all other races should bow down to them or die. The real enemies are noncorporeal lifeforms which can only be brought into a position of vulnerability through the situation created by a war of such a large scale.
And on the timeline, they became a theocracy roughly six and a half thousand years ago, and triggered off a nasty war that left a rather noticeable swath of the galaxy lacking in stars and filled instead with charred planets and faintly glowing nebulae. They've been nursing a grudge since then, so this time the war's _very_ vicious and bloody and on the whole rather unpleasant.
