The chronic thing is - ta-daa - ADHD!
Got diagnosed in December, and it explains so much...
Still on trial levels of medication, and I can't say there's a huge difference.
The temporary thing is, or rather was, probably CoViD-19.
I had a higher temperature than normal on and off for a week or two, mostly on for a couple of days, and then a day of higher temp spaced by a few days of lower, for a while. When the temperature was high, my resting heartbeat was a fair bit higher than usual too. A few times I had nausea, once I was even sick from it. I had a sore naso-pharynx, just where the back of the nose passage joins the throat. And I had a couple of days with pretty bad shortness of breath. But no dry coughing - at lest no more than the rest of the year.
The spooky thing is that I had completely, 100%, forgotten about the shortness of breath. To the extent that when asked, I denied that I had ever been short of breath. At the time, I was more worried about my racing heart, for some reason, and maybe I reasoned that with a fever and elevated heart beat, it's to be expected that you aren't breathing as usual.
But to forget such a blatant symptom of CoViD? (covid? COVID? one day I might remember the correct way to write it. Today is not that day). It makes me worry about what other things I'm forgetting. Like seriously. OK. I've learned that I have ADHD, and that my short term memory is unreliable (to be polite). But this went on for a while, and it still disappeared from my brain?
Oh well.
I hope someone reminds me if they have something I should have done for them...

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Apr 26, 2020
I am not sure how to respond to this. Mainly because I don't know enough about neither ADHD nor COVID-19.
ADHD is a wide field, isn't it? I don't mean to belittle your challenges. Far from it. What I mean is while you have always been special (not only to me but a lot of mutual friends also) you have never been special in any bad way. So I'm guessing everybody will agree you have excellent people skills. I for one hope you'll never change

Maybe if you were worried about the fever and nausea, the shortness of breath felt less worrying, so not really worthy of note ?
Apparently, high fever can cause memory loss (although... medical info on the internet, you know )
Glad you're feeling better now.
Also, what Pierce said.

I had no cough at all until three weeks in. Shortness of breath for me was like a constant weight on the back of my ribs and like trying to breathe through treacle! Memory loss? Yup. Loss of smell and taste too, but the worst was the fever and the headaches, falling over with nausea and passing out, totally unaware of time.
Hope you make a full recovery, it does wipe you out for weeks, building strength back up can't be rushed.

Aw man, FWR, you really got it bad! I hope you're all better now!
I'm mostly fine, so I think it's over. Unless random diarrhoea long after feeling fine is a thing.

Just clocking in to wish you all the best Milla. It's lovely that so much more is happening on hootoo these days and some old friends are peeping in.
I don't know anyone who has had CoVid, but, on the other hand, I am worried that people who are keeping themselves well out of it are risking not building up any immunity. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Lots of and to you, Milla, and FWR and look after yourselves. Keep us posted as to how you are managing to recover.

Glad your ADHD diagnosis is helpful to explain some things for you Good luck with the medication trials so that you can find the best improvements for yourself
Good to hear you're feeling mostly fine now after the probable bout of COVID... and best wishes to FWR, too, for building strength back up
