I'm not sure that's the English expression... but I'm now alone, with R having gone to Hawaii.
Except for his recent illness (fever, muscle ache, headache and coughing) things have gone quite well so far. Oh, they lost his bags between Los Angeles and Honolulu, but they have now arrived, and all the contents are intact.
His daughter has arrived, and his son should have arrived some six hours ago.
His mum is in a nursing home with five elderly, kind of in the home of a carer couple, wife is a nurse, and husband the handy man. It is a nice place, and mum is not unhappy, but talks about going home 'when she´s better' and have someone live with her. It doesn't sound likely...
I keep busy with the musical. Shopping secondhand clothes for costumes, sewing a little, shuttling kids and myself to rehearsal.
But I haven't been this alone in months.
Kids just left for their dad - son cried, he is certain he will miss me terribly, and asked to stay a couple more hours (until seven, not four) but I was cold hearted and sent him off to his dad. I keep justifying it, like he would only have been miserable thouse hours, and his dad *is actually home this time when he arrives, and they have nice plans for the week. He'll be fine, I'm sure.
I'm holding out a small hope that R will get online on Skype before he goes out for the day, but I think I need to go to sleep soon.
Poirot on the telly, and a small glass of whisky... and soon bed.

Yup, it's really hard when they have to go away isn't it?
*But* just think: while the is away, thecan play<evilgrin; stay up till all hours, play loud music, totally take over the modem; spoil the animals, eat teddy bears all night, catch up on gossip backlog on hootoo, paint their place bright pink....the possibilities are endless!!!
And, oh how lovely when they come back!!!(Not expecting internet contact from you when that happens for at least a week!)
P is away from Wednesday till dunno when, has a major Solar problem to sort, so i will be around to chat on gmail if you are into it.
How long is he away for? And the kids? Is he able to keep in touch via phone/email etc?

He's away for a month, kids for a week. I'm completely busy with the show costumes, so it's not bad, but still...
We talk on skype, and email, so I can sort of pretend he's just in his house. But when he sends photos from Hawaii (no mistaking them!) the pretence kind of fails.

I wish you had got to see him, if not just to prove that he is not a figment of my imagination...
But perhaps we leave that for next time....

We call the 'sambo' of one of my former colleagues 'The Invisible Man' because he was never at home when we'd visit her - it took many, many years before I finally got to meet him in person!

Interesting, somehow, that it happened that way - was it his choice or hers?
I can sort of relate to it, because I've had a relationship where I felt that my friends would not be considered acceptable by the significant other, so by not letting them meet, I protected my friends from his disapproval...
People are tricky.

The colleague is the Good Weather Lady I've mentioned somewhere, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually coincidence rather than choice. The Invisible Man runs his own company so spends a lot of time on the road.

She is a freak fenomenon, if you really are telling the truth! Is she in Malmö today? We have a really nice day...

i had a visitor once and all my friends were sooo eager to meet her
so they never did
why would i want to waste quality time with her on introducing her to them?
