There will be meet!
But whether it will be a full blown full scale massive Hootoo Meet or just a mini meet is up to YOU!
I am trying to fly to Manchester for a few days in September or maybe October because I need to see Pastey's new brewery and because I forgot to drink the last smiley - ale with Ann and Phil the last time I was there (June 2014).
What do you say? An smiley - ale at Port Street Beer House and later maybe The Crown & Kettle - and a fry-up the next day at The Font (oh please tell me these places still exist! smiley - yikes )?

Titania (gone for lunch)

I'm in. Loved Manchester last time I was there and got to meet a whole lot of hoopy froods. Loved the cocktail place. The weather had a hard time making up its mind though - rain, sunshine, rain, sunshine...

I met a commercial airline pilot once who had a very positive... axiom?... adage?... motto?...

Whatever you call it, a saying.

"The Sun is always shining; you just can't always see it."

You see it works on two levels for a pilot as he's often flying above the storm clouds.

Maybe it sounded better sitting at the bar.smiley - cheers

Sho - employed again!

but in Manchester the saying is: if you can't see the hills it's raining. If you can see the hills it's just about to rain smiley - run

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

This is now the official main thread for the upcoming Manchester Meet, which will be held some time in September (or maybe October, we'll get to fixing dates later, maybe in a couple of weeks)

I am NOT trying to put any pressure on hootooers in the Manchester area, since they've already organized several meets in the past!

But I am of course hoping they will partake in the event - or parts of it at least - and maybe I will have to ask a few questions of a practical nature at some point.

I am happy to announce that our good friend Pastey may be willing to open his brewery for one of the events - maybe even THE main event. Thank you in advance! smiley - ok

STAY TUNED!

I'M IN!!! (Hopefully)

So, here's the situation with me these days...

As some of you may know, I now own a brewery. It also has a small bar in it.
What a couple of you may know, is that towards the end of April we're expanding, and we'll have a permanent, larger bar in the brewery along with seating for around 40 to 50 people. We're planning on opening this brewery tap to the public every weekend. However, we're also planning on keeping the smaller bar at the brewery end of the railway arch we're in. So, if the main bar is open to the public, there's still a very likely possibility that the small bar and area will be available. I will warn you all though, breweries are not the warmest of places. Although we do have heaters. And beer. Lots of beer. smiley - cheers

Sounds good! smiley - smiley

Here's an idea off the top of my head: Alert the local press when we know the date for "The Intergalactic Beer Fest For Hitchhikers From Across The Universe" and earn yourself and Hootoo some publicity

I will make notes and have a look into The Calendar when dates are known. But don't hold your breath as this is likely to compete with the regular wee bit of travelling I tend to do... smiley - winkeye

Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE)

'Bout a year too early for any possibility for me (though we've not been able to save any for the proposed 20th anniversary trip summer 2017 anyway...)

Skype video call from the meet, maybe?
