Does anyone know what score you would get in the card game cribbage if you had a 6 and three 3's.?

cribbage is a card game either between 2 or 4 players (singles or Pairs . the aim is to score 15 or 31 by careful card playing . you are dealt 6 cards in singles , and 5 cards in pairs . one player has a box . the box is scored seperately from the hand , points are obtained from runs, suits and the ability to make 15's. oh and 1 for his knob

The score is kept my moving markers on a wooden board known as a cribbage board.

i was going to mention the cards game 21 where the players have to get err 21 by adding the points from their remaining cards but i can see some difference...

and re-reading the posts more carefully this time, i can see it's definitely not like a game of 21...

will i dare asking what is a knob in this context?!...

the Knob is what ever you want it to be , just terminology for scoring if you have the jack that is the same suite as the card that is turned over at the start of a game , you get one point for this , if you turn a Jack over at the strt of the game you get 2 points , as clear as mud I suppose to the un-knowing . play crib in the Havant crib league , do any of you.

i'm sure it will make sense to me eventually...

dear loup hope you studied the cribbage pages , in depth , practice is the key to being a good player , do you have any hobbies , or little likes, talk soon Kirbsea.

if you had 1 six and 3 three's you would be one card short, you have not stated what your spare card would have been. Other people may say 8 which would be correct, however wrong as you have not taken into account the scoring the spare card would have made to your hand, if for example the spare was another 6, your score would be 12, see table below

Ace + 3 3 3 6 = 8
2 + 3 3 3 6 = 8
3 + 3 3 3 6 = 24
4 + 3 3 3 6 = 8
5 + 3 3 3 6 = 8
6 + 3 3 3 6 = 12
7 + 3 3 3 6 = 8
8 + 3 3 3 6 = 8
9 + 3 3 3 6 = 14
10 + 3 3 3 6 = 8
J + 3 3 3 6 = 8
Q + 3 3 3 6 = 8
K + 3 3 3 6 = 8

And to reply to a question asked in December 2002 [I did'nt see it at the time, honest ], yep I do have some other hobbies... Unfortunately I have less free time now than I had then...
So the list has now been drastically reduced...

Apart from visiting h2g2 [of course ], I still like reading and writing stuff [mainly SF]... I used to collect comic books related items but this activity is on stand by at the moment...

you can also play with 3,5 or as in the case of my crib nights 6 people
