My shirt has 5 buttons, my cardigan has 2 buttons and my suit jacket has no buttons. How many buttons do my trousers have?

I don't know why. But if it is anything to do with vowels and consonants, then trousers has the same number of each as cardigan.

I think I might 'get' this later, and kick myself for this answer. But...
1?
It's quite feasible that your shirt might have five buttons, your cardigan two, and your jacket none.

Ooh, you could be right. I couldn't make any mathematical sense out of it, so went for the more obvious answer.

Roman numeral "IX" upside down is "XI". Now take away the ^ bit from the bottom half of the X and it's "VI"
AND still have the given-line left, which if you turned the ^ bit over, could give you and other VI.
Now you got VI of one and VI of the other. That's efficiciency!
A suit jacket with no buttons? How can anyone think in such an absurdist environment? Anarchy reins ..aka suspenders.
