Hi Kyra,

This and the other entry are very erudite and well-written. I don't feel qualified to comment on the detail, so I hope somebody who can will be along in due course.

This is the first time I've read about historiography, so thank you for submitting it - very interesting. smiley - ok

smiley - cheers Icy

'breaks with Braudel's methodological structuralism and reaffirms the Durkheimian idea of history of mentalities

^^^ You're missing a closing quote mark here ^^^

a 14th century study of Montaillou --> 14th Century

Otherwise, good work once again smiley - smiley

Good Entry (the other one too)

I think you should maybe explain who Durkheim was if you're going to include the quote about a reversion to his model. He's relevant anyway as the originator of L'Annee Sociologique which was a sociolgogical source and major influence on the Annales School.

OK, I confess I know a little bit about the history of sociology and nothing about historiographysmiley - biggrin

Minor point : maybe the description of the Montaillou work as a '14thC study' is a bit misleading. Might it be better to describe it as being compiled from 14thC sources?

Well, I knew next to nothing about historiography - and this (and the companion entry) was a nice intro - about the right level I'd say smiley - ok

One small typo:
one of the criticisms leveled --> levelled

smiley - goodluck
