Cookie and layout problems

Several times I have clicked the "Remember Me" box on the login page, only to receive the message "We won't remember you next time you log in." when I log out.
Also, on the logout page, it says "You can log in again by clicking on the "Sign in" button at the bottom left" but the button is actually at the top right, near the bottom of the header bar.
If it helps, I'm using Firefox 2 under Win 98SE. I tolerate XP Pro at work but would never dream of using Vista.

I don't have any cookie problems with NYT. Every time I go there I'm recognized.
Sorry - N.Y.T. They absolutely insist on putting in the dots of abbreviations, which everyone else gave up years ago. Of course it does stop MS Word automatically changing it to Nyt - unless, of course, like me you've turned off absolutely everything automatic, including formatting and "correction" of everything it assumes to be mistyping, that's on by default.
Enough of that. What about the misinformation about the button position? And are these things really so hard to fix?

"You are reading it from the 'wrong' skin. The text is correct so we just adapt the reality to fit with it.
Make your pick for the alternative skin with the button in the position as in the text:

Why should I need to "adapt reality" and use a skin?
I hate "pretty" and take my browsers straight, so I get really uptight when WIG is "WYR is not WYS".
Perhaps next time I'll see if it's any different in IE 5.5.

That's probably because you don't log out when you leave. If you log out, you will be logged out. I don't know why you would want to log out and not be logged out.

You appear to be complaining that the logout button works, which strikes me as an odd thing to complain about.
