my Subbie's badge doesn't appear on my PS in the Brunel skin; it is visible in Alabaster and Goo, though.

It appears to be a bug with the Curators. If you're a member of the Curators group, then none of the other badges appear. It being close to Christmas, I'm afraid there's unlikely to be a fix until the new year.

Perhaps it affects only Curators who are also Subbies and nothing else, drive a Volvo, and are no native speakers?

Well perhaps I eventually get so frustrated about this that I replace all the EG entries with 'My hoovercraft is full of eels'.
