I guess this is a bug...

Strider's Entry on Granny Smith Apples (A682580) was just recommended. At least, the PR tread was moved to the Entries forum. Trouble is, h2g2 messages didn't post notification on the thread, the Entry Data box still has a 'Submit for Review' button, and there's no 'recommended' tag next to the Entry listing on his space or in search results or in the Entry Data box. It seems that
the thread was just randomly booted. Perhaps DNA just isn't fond of Granny Smiths?

Well, I was about to post this, but it looks like Spike got to it first! Thanks Jim (and everybody else)!

Hi,
Just to clarify, the article was submitted to peer review using the 'Submit to Peer Review' button. The entry appeared in the review forum PeerReview then it was moved out (by DNA?) and no posting was made to the users space saying it was moved.
Is this right, if not could you tell me exactly what happened. Then I will have a go at trying to figure out what is happening.
Cheers

Hi folks,
perhaps this is a related problem: it seems that ALL entries that have been edited still have a 'Submit to PR' button. If I understand correctly, both the original and edited entry shouldn't be recommendable for PR?

Hi there.
This isn't a bug, but it does point out a small hole in the process which we're already aware of.
A686757 was recommended from Peer Review, so the Review Conversation was moved from Peer Review to the entry itself, and 'Peer Review' was appended to the start of the initial title. However the new system does not *yet* post a message to the Conversation (this feature is in the feature ideas list at A650774 under 'Post Message on Scout Recommendation'), but the author is emailed, so it's not the end of the world.
Also, once an entry has been recommended and the recommendation approved by the Editors, a copy is made of the entry, and the original is released back tot he author so (s)he can do what they will with it. There is nothing to stop an author re-using that entry number, so there is no reason not to enable them to recommend it.
So everything is working perfectly, except for the lack of a message posted to the moved Review Conversation. We have asked the Scouts to post to this Conversation when we approve their picks, and the author is emailed, so this isn't a massive loss (and we will fix it in a future release).
Hope this all makes sense...
