loads new smileys and if you type <./>officialPageNameforh2g2</.> you get a link.. say < / . > PeerReview < / . > for instance gives you a link to PeerReview 
I suggest you check out the <./>DNA-Introduction</.> and the <./>Versions</.> of h2g2 pages

Yes h2g2 will be going local
in fact test sites are soon to be launched.
It is hoped that a version of h2g2 will be attached to all local radio stations - each regional station will be in charge of the running of local h2g2 sites. All the sites will be under the wing of h2g2, so cross posting will be possible between the sites and still show on your h2g2 'my space' and a lot more.
