I'm sure he'd enjoy it! Well I believe once you assin a name it pretty much sticks with the animal and they will start domesticating themselves to your liking, so I would choose carefully

Which reminds me, Quille, if you are there, that after I started calling the shapeshifter 'Pushkin' he remained a large sandy catlike creature, but developed an of fur patter resembling some very dashing sideburns, has a tendency to get into fights with other cat-like beings at the drop of a hat, and shows a distinct tendency to compose love ballards on the rof at night. He's around here somewhere...
