Ti: where I live in my dreams

This is kind of odd, but whenever I dream about living in my home town again, I end up in the same studio flat, every time.
And yet, I've never lived in a studio flat, and I've never seen one quite like this in RL - don't know where the image comes from.
It's smaller and much closer to the city centre than the flat I used to live in before moving to Stockholm.
And yet, I know it so well, because I've been there several times, in my dreams. Always having to climb over a hand rail to get my bicycle into the flat (because leaving it outside would end up getting it stolen or demolished). Do you have any idea of how much trouble is involved in lifting a full sized bicycle over a waist-high hand rail?
And I'm not talking about pleasant dreams - they usually end up getting so complicated or illogical that the frustration wakes me up.

Two nights ago, I was standing on my 'French balcony'

watching and listening to a marching band passing by, playing Greek folk music (illogical, I know).
Just as I was about to shut the doors, my mother showed up, exclaming
'Your father is in town!'
Yes, I've had a few dreams where my father was still living (he died in 1990) but this time I *knew. Thinking my mother had gone more that a tiny bit senile, I retorted
'Mother, father is DEAD!'
'Oh, but I've gotten you a new father!'
'Mother, you getting a new boyfriend does NOT make him my father!'
I was so frustrated I woke myself up.
After having calmed down, I tried to go to sleep again.
And the dream continued just where I had woken up.
So I woke myself up again.
Rinse and repeat a couple of times.
In the end, I got up and read for a bit until my brain dropped the idea of pursuing that particular dream.
And no, as far as I know, my mother hasn't found a new sweetheart. Maybe I ought to check with her, just in case?

While I do not recommend it, try communicating with your subconscious self *shudders*
