Nordic expert panel dissing the ESC contributions

Post 1

Titania (gone for lunch)

It seems to be a co-production between the Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic and Norwegian TV companies - going through all participants for the ESC (Eurovision Song Contest) - and so far, it's been quite amusing!

Although I'm still trying to figure out what the Icelandic person Eirikur Hauksson was speaking - it was far too understandable (to a Swede) than Icelandic, but it still didn't quite sound like Norwegian or Danish (both mostly/sometimes understandable to a Swede).

And the preliminary votes from the Nordic expert panel are:

1. Iceland
2. Norway
3. Denmark

Find out more about all of the contestants here:

The German company that released their CD was caught buying the CDs back to get the band to the top lists or something like that.

Now I know who participates for Denmark smiley - smiley And I'm a little sorry that Sanne Salomonsen [Danish rock singer] did not win the Swedish contest. Would have compensated for the time a Norwegian singer sang for Denmark... smiley - winkeye

(and that was the only time I've been at a pan-European party watching this event. Were we Danes ridiculed for not having a Dane singing??? smiley - erm)

I guess 9 and 11 will sit in front of the TV - if they're near one that night - and that I won't...

We had a Swedish singer one year. she didn't do too good. I hope this year we won't get through semifinals. It's the most awful song, methinks. smiley - yuk

Well, one of Norway's successes was a joint venture between Norway and Sweden, after all... 'La de svinge, la de rock'n roll..'smiley - musicalnote

So now the Nordic countries not only share the jury points between themselves, but also the singerssmiley - erm

I think it is about time the singers are distinguished by numbers instead of countries and let the juries only judge on the usual lack of quality.
