Annoying things on TV and how to handle them

Well, to begin with, Volkswagen has been running ads on Swedish TV several times lately, with the ad ending with
'Volkswagen - *das* Auto!'
where upon I each and every time get this irrestitable urge to reply with
'*der* Wagen!'
For those of you not familiar with German distinctions, 'das' is a neuter noun, and 'der' is a masculine noun. I wonder if they've chosen the neuter form so as not to provoke us females? Oh - and Wagen is German for car...
One piece of music that has been getting on my nerves lately is 'I kissed a girl and I liked it' and every time I hear it, I want to yell 'so what?'
Well, here's a quite lovely parody :

Every time I hear Kate Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" I wish it was Jill Sobule's "I Kissed A Girl" from 1995: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SclQZ4W2VZ0
It's much better and seems to take the subject more seriously. Yet still tongue in cheek.

Santra, if you enjoyed that parody, I'm sure you'll enjoy the 'Laura Croft Saves YouTube' video:

oh *that* parody? yes, it is hilarious
my slow connection only allowed me to see it now
- but i still don't know what problem ti has with "das auto"
it is quite common german - like "the " is common english
i believe volkswagen chose the slogan to suggest "*this* is a car - unlike (or forget about) all the others"
bit i could be completely wrong of course
