OK, for starters, for those who haven't heard already...
I'm no good with plants.
The only house plants I've got are ones that won't mind a week or two without watering...
Last year, I bought myself some wild strawberry plants and put them into a pot on my balcony (I live in a flat).
They survived, so this year I got more courageous - not only did I get new wild strawberry plants, but I also bought some tomato seeds!
After a while, I chose the three sturdiest plants and put them into a flower box, hanging on the inside of my balcony railing.
Now, these plants have been growing, and growing, and GROWING!
I've stopped new branches/twigs/leaves, I've fertilized them...
...but they were a bit slow to develop due to mostly cloudy and rainy weather in the month of July...
...but in August they *really* started growing - so much so that I couldn't get the flower box off the hooks without breaking the steams!
So... I got myself a trellis, tied it to the railing, and tied the plants to the trellis.
The tomatoes are getting bigger and bigger, but now some of the thinner twigs are *also* beginning to grow tomatoes!
I've followed Amy's advice about removing leaves, but the tomatoes are already so big that they've pushed aside most of the surrounding leaves anyway.
Now I just need to decide on how to protect my courageous tomato plants from the approaching night frost...

Once you've got the tomatos to the size you like, remove them fromt he plant and let them ripen off the vine in your kitchen.

Courageous yes - *you* try reaching a mature age in this chilly and rainy season that we in Sweden call summer!

Are you sure you are growing tomatoes that become red, about 7 cm large, and not pumpkins, yellow and growing up to 30-40 cm?
