Look out Yorkshire! It's Allan & Linzi's wedding day. I'm finally ready, after 3 changes of outfits (don't ask) and am now off to pick up Ian, scoot over to Nettleton to park up then we're being chauffeured by my sister's husband the wedding is at 12 noon so think of us then
We're all staying overnight and heading back during the predicted ex-hurricane headed our way tomorrow, so that should be fun
I'm a little nervous about Goldie, as I've given a key to non-person Caroline, Ian's daughter, she'll be popping round tonight to feed Goldie & clean the litter tray with a repeat performance tomorrow morning. She's never cared for a cat or any pet so we've both got our fingers crossed nothing goes wrong.
I've packed my camera so just and there'll be images to share as fast as you can say "Look out Yorkshire, GB's on her way!"

Goldie will be fine matey! If there is a problem with the litter tray, she will simply 'improvise' where necessary!. The beauty of cats is that they are inherently 'clean' You will just need to deal with the aftermath. So long as she is fed, there should not be a problem. Is she an indoor or an outdoor cat? I only ask because mine is outdoor when he wants and I have worried for a couple of days that he has not been his usual hearty eater self; till a neighbour confessed that he had been round demanding breakfast, so she had been feeding him too!
Have a wonderful wedding visit and stop worrying - looking forward to pics.

Have a great time GB. Weddings are great, particularly when all you have to do is turn up looking glam.

Glad you got home safe - over here it was brief but torrential showers during the day, and then the wind sprang up at about 10pm, so it wasn't too bad (although typically it was chucking it down when my friend got out of the car and ran across the car park to my flat, then it was dry while we were chatting indoors...)
Excellent photos - you look fantastic! A superbly co-ordinated outfit

Well thank you
I'm prepared to talk about it now. I was going to wear a long dress as I'm still paranoid about the hole in the back of my calf where that dratted mole was removed some time ago (it doesn't look pretty in tights and I'd never go bare-legged). BUT when my sister rang the night before she mentioned a "dress suit" she'd bought the previous year for a wedding and not worn since which she was planning to wear...and I thought, she's making a huge effort and will probably be mistaken for mother of the groom unless I get my act together. So I rifled through my wardrobe and found a silver grey skirt with pink and purple rose print. Tried it on. It fitted I selected a few tops and went for a purple sleeveless body-hugging velvet number which accentuated my best features I topped that with a silver grey jacket with imprinted roses which I got from a charity shop this year and customized the buttons to purple heart-shaped from pale pink round buttons (when I got it, so it was ready to wear). Put on my purple suede kitten-heel shoes and left my silver hat with decorations until we arrived at the venue. Sans hat on the way to collect Ian I stopped at my local paper shop for newspapers for us both. I was getting back to my car when round the corner walked Matt Tees who used to playfor Grimsby Town, he was my hero when I used to go watch, in the early Seventies. Sadly he's an old man now, has arthritis and Alzheimer's. But he smiled at my "Hello Matt!" and said, "if you don't mind me saying so, lady, you look beautiful!" and gave me a lovely smile. So I said thank you and I was off to Sheffield for my son's wedding, he told me to drive carefully and give them his best wishes. I drove to Ian's with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. Ian opened the door and stepped back in amazement. I asked him how I looked... he hadn't spoke. He said, "I'm speechless. You look staggering! I thought you were going to wear your peacock dress?" So I told him about the conversation with Yvonne and how I wanted to stand out as Mother of the Groom. He told me off for putting myself down, then when we were all seated in the wedding venue awaiting the bridal party, Ian whispered "You're the only one wearing a hat"
And after the ceremony I went to kiss my son and new daughter-in-law and Allan said "You look beautiful Mam"
The theme at the reception was confectionary and roses - my daughters thought my foresight in choosing a rose-covered skirt was amazing. Even my ex-husband posed with myself and our 3 children for some photos that I've yet to see - that's a first since we separated almost 29 years ago.

Sounds like a great day!
I'm sorry a mole bit a hole in your leg, but it sounds as if no one else noticed.
Saw some of the photos, and it's true, you do look beautiful.
