Yes it was thanks Profsmiley - hugsmiley - mistletoesmiley - smooch

I'm a tad worried about Spurn Point because if it's no longer giving us any protection, we're going to be at the mercy of the North Sea, and that close to the sea I don't want to be.

I saw on "look north" on how much the tidal surge had moved the spurn point landmass across

You watch Look North? That's my local BBC TV station, even though it's based over the Humber Bridge smiley - laugh

Yes, not only has Spurn moved, but it's possibly split and we probably now have no protection from the ravages of the North Sea. Things can only get worse smiley - sadface

Gnomon - time to move on

Wexford town used to be protected by a long spit like Spurn Point. In the 1930s a storm breached it and it soon washed away.

I think in the case of Spurn, the Humber itself should rebuild the point.

Look North is broadcast from roughly the same place as a massive block of high rise once were (where they filmed Queenies Castle) and opposite Leeds bus station

There's another high tide alert for 1st January. But the flooding depends on the weather too, and wind direction etc. *fingers crossed*
