I'm worried about what will be on the FP next weekas far as I can see there are only 2 entries ready/fit to be published.

The Editors say the redesign is imminent but how are they going to promote the site with not enough new articles?

There are six that have come back from the Subeditor - a quick editorial run-through is in order, methinks!
I haven't written much for a while but I have a few new ideas and some on my list that I haven't got to yet, so I do plan to do some more writing in the next few weeks.
On my list I have ideas like the formation of the Red Cross following the Battle of Solferino, the Julian and Gregorian calendars and the paparazzi.

Sounds great, Elentari!
I had no idea we were so low on entries; I've not been on hootoo much lately. But I have several half-written ones, I can hurry up and finish some...

There are actually about 10 entries picked and not yet handed out to subs. So I've volunteered to take five easy ones; in general I can sub-edit an easy entry in about 20 minutes, that should beef up the queue of ready entries a bit. There are a few picked entries, though, that will take a lot of work, so I won't attempt any of those until I've finished Bluebottle's Asterix project, which will be 9 entries, but will only cover at most one week on the Front Page.

Sho - employed again! Posted Nov 4, 2010
but at times like this isn't it a good opportunity to get some of the older entries on the FP? Maybe even something appropriate to the season/date?

They already do that anyway, Sho.
There's only two returned from sub ready for the FP, the others are either still with lawyers or still contain errors which will need going through by a Curator,

You can ignore the topmost one: A44326730 The India-Pakistan Conflict Part 1: Origins because that's an anomaly. I got the whole thing in one article and split it into 5, which have been on the FP (12 February 2009). I had to make 4 new entries which hadn't been through PR etc, but didn't realise the original "accepted" page was still with me, the Eds (prob the last lot) collected the articles from me (I thought all 5 of them had gone) and slapped them on the FP (the other 4 are *edited* status). Then a few weeks ago I was asked to return Part One, which I had had for a long time - I checked the entry and there's the "return to Eds" button which shouldn't be there on an edited article, so I returned it, and it's been "pending" ever since. I emailed the Eds and said just make it live, but I think it's been forgotten.

Well, I managed to sub-edit four, so things are not quite as bad as they were.

Well done, I've also done one today which wasn't bad considering I also took Mum for her flu jab
I also noticed that yesterday the Eds plucked one of my articles from the accepted pool and stuck it straight into the pending portion, and as it has a new date, it will go FP on Monday.
