Ah, I see Glad it was something like that and not lack serious lack of
I couldn't imagine you without a bike somehow.
My son's girlfriend had to sell her bike to fund the baby she was expecting I think it hurt but the arrival made up for it

"there'll be other bikes"
That's what I said, so far no bike.
My only recent two wheel experiences were a Kawasaki 750
that I hired in Cyprus

and a scooter holiday in Spain

Dear Mistadong,
What wonderful photographs of both your holidays. You are brave to do your travels on a two wheeler - even if they are motorised.!
I did not realise that Cyprus was so really comparatively barren.
I loved all the photos of Spain. What an extraordinary canyon. Canyons fascinate me. I have visited the Fish River Canyon in south Africa. That is an extraordinary place but with the only thermal baths ever discovered in South Africa. I believe that they were "discovered" and developed by the original German settlers in South west africa (orignally called German south West africa and is now called Namibia)
Thank you for taking me on your non-existing(?) pillion for these lovely voyages of discovery.
Kind regards
Christiane

I'm glad you enjoyed the travels.
The Duraton canyon was an eye opener and completely unexpected
The surrounding region was dry and barren and in the middle
there was this lush green valley.
The trip was a spur of the moment thing so I had to cram
as much Spanish into my skull as I could.
What struck me most of all was how friendly the Spaniards were.
Maybe because I made an effort to learn the language or maybe
that's just the way they are. I'm hoping to go again
as soon as I can get some money together.

Dear Mistadong,
Good luck with the spanish. do you go to classes, or from rcords, or go to a soabish speaking club? it is a relatively easy language to learn. Portugeses I found incredibly difficult.
Sadly my travelling days are over. but I ceertinaly enhoyed them when I was able to .
I have just had the visit of my granddaughter which I absolutely loved. she is an inspiration.
Go well,
Christiane

Hi Christiane,
I signed up for Spanish lessons at the university in Bangor a few years back and that was something of a disaster thanks to students not turning up, so I learnt very little. What I did learn was from a BBC book and from their foreign language site. I like Spanish and keep promising myself that I will learn it properly but I've too much on my plate at the moment.
