I'm being taken out today, we're off to the Lincolnshire Wolds, then to Tealby for lunchand as the weather's fine, we'll be travelling on Gordon's motorcycle. I have thought about following him in my car, but he says I'm being ridiculous and he's got me a helmet, so I have no excuse. It's at least a hundred years since I've ridden pillion so I'm going to have to be brave

Heh, have fun and remember to cling on like a koala bear
now to ask the obvious question - what's his bike?

I came to this thread to find out how many a pillion is.
Now I'm freaked out for GB. Hang on tight!

"perview" is a typo people often committed when admonishing themselves for not using "preview". And I've seen the "friend" spelt wrongly (inadvertently) in "Preview is my friend", too. I was just combining the two.
Now I'll back away and let GB tell us about her adventures.

and remember, if you aren't happy about anything to communicate this to the rider.
And as you'll be in the perfect position to administer a kidney jab I suggest this would be a remarkably efficient manner to communicate any displeasure!

Passengers must not interfere with the driver of a vehicle
Except if he's pulling wheelies with you on the bike

And I wasn't suggested she try interfering with him whilst riding - that's your dirty mind at work lil!

Naturally, I had to look up pillion, too. Luckily, I already knew what Wolds were. Still waiting for the particulars on the bike...

Blimey, busy journal, I guess you're all waiting for news!
It will have to wait till another day as Gordon rode his bike (Enfield/Bullet 500) here and wasn't happy with the performance and the dark clouds looming so he parked it up in my garage and we headed off for our lunch in my car. By the time we got there it was raining, so good call.
I can't guess what you'd call pillion over the pond? but no doubt KWDave or Paily will enlighten us

I only ever rode pilion once - years and years and years ago, and later married the motor-bike rider!!.
I really do not know what to say.
I did not enjoy the pillion ride or the marriage - so good luck. Anyway, you went in your car - so it sounds even more ominous or perhaps it is propitious. !!
I really am being an old bore. sorry my very dear GB. !!
Christiane.
