Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Oct 20, 2009
as some of you may have noticed i witnessed the bolide in january
only, back then i didn't realize what it was
i thought it was either firew*rks or lightning - and only wondered that we never heard anything
but then there was a lot of noise around us so we never wondered for long

there, there!
The beauty of shooting stars is you don't have to wait for meteor showers, you can spot them on any clear night
You just have to stay out in the cold and dark, and crick your neck for ages

Ooh, a sneakywith me!
That reply was meant for Prof
Yes I recall your bolide, Pierce. Apparently that bolide last Tuesday broke the sound barrier, so you'd not have mistaken that if it'd happened near you

well, they say there was quite some rumble up in the air - only i was in a chinese restaurant with lots opf people and at the time so never heard any
however i *did* see the entire sky light up like a late august afternoon for a second or two as i was sitting in the top floor of the highest building in town, staring into the night sky and daydreaming

One of the nights I saw my meteor last week I also saw the sky light up. I had no idea what it was. Come to think of it, it was in the east...my east is the North Sea and Europe. Right direction

you can spot them on any clear nightindustrial type area here, clear nights few and far between and not enough whisky to keep the chill out

My very dear Faith,
Mummy says that you saw a shooting star last night in the sky.
That is wonderful. It is great that you know about shooting stars already. I think that is very clever of you.
I have missed you. I hope that Grace is being good.
Please give my love to Mummy and Daddy, and also a big hug and a kiss to
Grace and your darling self.
Thank you for telling us about the wonderful shooting star,
with much love
Christiane and Keith.
