I'd love to, thanks!
We intend being at the Manchester museum for 2pm. We're setting off at 10am, allowing for a stop for lunch

tell me you don't pass Sheffield on the way...
I'll try to get to the museum on time but... I've never been to Manchester before and have no idea how to get around. Foreigner in my own country.

Manchester Museum?
Sheffield train gets you in to Piccadilly Station - usually Platform 14, which the furthest platform from the entrance.
Walk back to the station proper (there are moving walkways from platform 13 & 14), take the Fairfield Street exit and hop on the 147 bus from the bus stop outside.

Isn't it MoSI people are going to? I think one of the FreeCityBuses go there but I've always walked there so I'm not sure how to get there by other routes.

MoSI is Museum of Science and Industry and Manchester has a bunch of free buses that go around the city centre. And walking is a way of getting somewhere on foot without using a vehicle of any kind

I thought it was MoSI, too.
Am I wrong?

ok now I'm totally confused.
and right now I can't concentrate on anything so, sorry, can someone spell out in words of one syllable where I need to be at what time in order to see people?
I can google addresses later
(right now i'm helping my mum finalise the arrangements for my dad's funeral so I'm not really fully functional)

You have to be there: http://www.mosi.org.uk/
at 2pm
outside the main entrance
'There is a pub across the road called Cask that opens at 12 noon and would provide a good venue to meet before hand...'

I'm unlikely to be coming to the Museum (I've been there tonnes of times before and I've now got two interviews to prep for, haircut to get, shoes to shine and an Urdu essay to write) so I'll just be meeting folk at Font (one of my favourite places in the world).

Apparently there's a Hollands Pie exhibition at MOSI this weekend. You can win a year's supply of pies (52, I checked).
I won't be there, as I'll be in Leeds during the day for the football, but it's well worth having a poke around the aerospace hall.
