Well, dramatic, I grant you. But really. If 2009 wasn't the worst year of my life, I must be blocking the worst year because I really really can't remember such a horrible year. Funnily enough, up until 2009, 2008 was the worst...

So good riddance to 2009. But if 2010 isn't better in a lot of respects, I want my money back.

I always fear the worst year is yet to come. ;-/

It's 2010 now anyway. So glad the year has finished.

Well it isn't here yet, but as I'm watching crap tv and surfing while listening to t'other yelling, it isn't going to have the most auspicious start.

Hey, we MADE it!
Four of our five old pets, two cats and two dogs, died in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, respectively . However, the fifth and last one, a 13-year-old cat, survived 2009 and the horrible series is finally broken!

So to us, 2009 has been a much better year than all those before!

May 2010 be a good year for us all!

CD - ah King Lear - I usually remember the parts about the Pelican daughters and forget his more insightful comments (that one and the part about being more sinned against than sinning)

Perhaps I should put him on my reading list for this year.

2009 doesn't rate in my "Top 10 Years" either. It was bad, but I think 2003 was worse.

2003 wasn't so bad - at least, it was hot and the gruesomes played outside a lot and were quite happy.

2008 was horrible, actually so were 2007 and 2006. But 2009 has been the icing on the cake of a row of totally carp years with no sign that 2010 is going to be better.

If so much has not been good for several years in a row, methinks it's time to make some changes... but remember that we cannot change others, only ourselves. It may be enough to find more little things to enjoy, or just to appreciate the good things you have in your life a little more. We're usually as happy as we choose to be...

That reminds me of the Dalai Lama at a NY hot-dog stand...
