And indeed, even though they mentioned on the weather report this morning that it would snow tomorrow - who would believe that? We _never_* get snow here in December.
And yet, out there at 8:30 pm on 16th December - there it is. An inch or so of the cold white stuff.
I'm going to have to get up early to make sure the path is swept, the car starts and the porridge is cooked.
*obviously not 'never' any more, since there is yer actual snow on yer actual ground. Right now.

Hope it's not too bad for practical purposes but stays for that lovely Christmas feeling!
There is currently a howling gale with copious amounts of rain in Cyprus - never pleasant when you live in a house made of concrete blocks, poured concrete, no damp course or insulation and badly fitting windows!!

Not had any here yet; apparently this kinda area is being predicted three inchs tommorrow at some point... I'd be worried; I have to travel by train tommorrow or Friday, but its December, I imagine the rail companys are well prepared to deal with just this kind of eventuality.

We had some today but not much stayed on the ground. Enough for t'Boy to roll around in at nursery though, necessitating the wearing of his emergency trousers...

I'm more astounded by Tavaron's revelation! The trains are late here every time it dips below 5 degrees. If snow comes they don't risk taking them out in the morning...
Of course, they are "late" when it's above 5 degrees too, but you aren't allowed to call it late until it's by more than 33.3% of the total stated journey time.

I don't use the trains all the time, but when I have, I've been pretty impressed by their punctuality.
One time I really needed to be somewhere on time - a woman parked her car on a level crossing...
And it's not an excuse in the UK for them to say "well, in Germany they get a lot more snow" here we get less snow than in Sheffield.
The Gruesomes are so excited though - I'm sure it will be either gone or frozen solid by the morning. And the is hilarious. He doesn't like using his litter tray - but he took one look at the garden and ran back in as though the hounds of hell were after him. Little pest.

This morning, Greenland Dock was almost completely frozen over. This afternoon, there were two heavy snow flurries, although none of it settled.
Tomorrow afternoon, we're expecting a heavier fall, which may settle.

No snow here yet.
But the ground's frozen, which is a good thing, since now I don't need to put my trousers in the wash after every time I walk the dog.

It's snowing at the moment here in Durham, UK and has been for the past few hours (started with sleet and is now big fluffy flakes) and is finally settling. I'm supposed to take hubby to the dentist lunchtime and son to guitar lesson in Durham this evening, so I hope it stops soon.

Well I had the weather report from my Father at a bit after 8 AM, over in Suffolk.... Dry there at the moment but he said the clouds were rolling in thick and fast here in Cambridge It sounds a bit 'wet' outside, judgeing by the noises the cars are making, but I think we've escaped teh snow thus far.... so I hope* my train journey today from Cambridge to Suffolk oughta* be just about alright damn cold here though... no idea what the temp is, but the draft coming through from the utility room (which has an open window in it, is freezing )

That sounds too much like outdoors-style housew**k to me, Pierce! Wouldn't a hair-dryer with a very long extension cable have been easier to remove the snow?
