Thank you - I foolishly had left my camera on overnight and had left the hotel without charging the battery, so that one was taken on phone.

My personal favourites are the rusty bridge and Cockermouth.

I mean I know those aren't exactly the reasons people go to *the lakes* for a rusty bridge, but the salty sea air and the general disregard had seen to it that the corrosion had been left unchecked.

I like the colours in both - really bold, and I like the compositional effects I got on the bridge.

The first rust one is good too, I like the contrast of the vibrant reds and the subdued blues.

Thanks Iago! smiley - biggrin

Rust is one of the colours I struggle with, I like it how I see it, but it's more of a dirty brown, I'm kinda left wondering what the red oxide must really look like. C'est la vie. But the pale light of the water and the distant islands certainly helped bring out the contrast.

I do like that in the one photo I have got greens, reds and blues, the primary colours of light, somethign about that I feel balances the picture out in a way I hadn't been able to appreciate until I got it uploaded.

I was also rather happy with the way the beach curved and I caught that in I think the 4th rust photo. There's even a slight suggestion that the dirty white handrail and the shabby grey shale of the beach could almost meld and meet on a plain.

Just compositionally, I think I was most happiest with these shots. smiley - ok

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

I'll agree with Icy and pick out the Thirlmere as my favourite, though the compositions of the rust photos are rather excellent.
