By sheer providence today I was at a series of public lectures in science in Sheffield.
After buzzing about The BBC's "The Secret Life of Chaos" all last week.
(see F19585?thread=3875581&skip=1298&show=1 )
One of the speakers was the man who appeared in it -Dr Andrea Sella - and he performed the Berlusov experiment live on stage! Absolutely mad day. Completly undersold by the college. If I'd known this was coming I'd not have shut up about it!! No matter.
Other speakers includes Prof Steve Jones (Geneticist ) and Prof Robert Winston (Fertility) - who took his Q&As by leaping off the stage and running around the auditorium ); a lecture on progress towards nuclear fusion (proof of principle next year (!!) and a new reactor by 2025, apparently... ) and the next telescope to replace The Hubble! .
Overheard one dissaffected teenager describe it as "boring"
I don't think they'd recognise Interesting if it walked up and assaulted them with a wet haddock.

I think it as being used to power the Infinite Improbability Engine that was opening the rift between dimensions that was making these legends of science appear on stage at roughly 45 minutes intervals.
