Well the date went, erm, interestingly. The company was perfectly charming, amiable, up for a laugh etc. but *really* insecure.
It all started out wonderfully at 7pm, we met, I got the beers in and chatted. Then the discmfort set in - on both sides. The conversation ran dry and so did the beer and I left.
I really need help and maybe a little more time.

You got the cuddle then
Maybe next time have a plan for what to do if the conversation does dry up. An activity, say cinema (which you are obviously interested in) or theatre. You at least have something to talk about until the end of he night.
And keep it as a contingency plan rather than actually buying the tickets, that way if it does go really well, or if you want to get out quick, you haven't wasted any money .

Good tips
I'll let you all know how it goes.
So I was reading the threads - why am I a 'Surprise'.
Just Curious

Far more laid back and relaxed than expected. Not that I had many expectations. The voice indicated you were very calm about almost everything. Some of the threads sort of seemed to me to be more lively or energetic or when more specifically about editing very serious. Saturday you gave the impression that nothing like that would phase you at all. It was all a piece of cake

Cheers. That was my best spell of batting in softball ever. I usually hit it straight up in the air to one of the fielders on a base. Providing I make contact at all.
But we won! Yay!

Nah I though you'd be laid back and relaxed. Maybe it's just the way you've dealt with my entries.
As for the date and future advise I'm glad I don't have to worry about doing that at present. But then it is also slightly harder for me, to get things going.

I seems to be more acceptable to approach someone for a hetro relationship and find out they are gay than vice versa. Plus I only have 10% of the male gender to work from, and in Northern Ireland it's one big closet.

So did mine when I lived down there. Up here it's harder. Everyone sort of assumes you're straight. People just don't talk about it, when it comes up it's a SHOUT. Check out Berilia's article on the subject, one of my most emotive I think.

Glad you think so.
You do of course realise that the winning softball team was over 25% gay. Now that hasn't come out in the stats yet.

Well OK there was you, but they had BB. But myself and Ashley seemed to always have a beer can within reach as did several of the rest of our team.
