Phil Posted May 5, 2000
Be warned, doing a step class or exercising on a stepper will make you bum bigger! It will make it a lot firmer as well, so don't go to extremes.

Pandora Posted May 6, 2000
Phil, what the Hell kind of answer is THAT?!? Are you suggesting she
DO step training? Or Not? I'm confused.
THE STATISICS SHOW : IN THE USA...THE AVERAGE WOMEN CLOTHING SIZES FALL BRTWEEN 12 - 16. WITH SIZE 14 BEING THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER. ALSO, THE MAJORITY OF THOSE WOWEN BUY ONE SIZE FOR THE TOP AND ANOTHER SIZE FOR THE BOTTOM. I RECALL MY 32" WAIST! BUT I WAS 'ALWAYS' LOOKING GOOD!! TRAVELED TO FAR AWAY, EXOTIC PLACES...AND...
ALWAY HAD A DATE. AND WAS AN OUTRAGEOUS FLIRT. *thinks...WAS?!?*
I've found swimming to be THE FINEST EXERCISE IN THE WORLD! I put on a favorite CD and exercise like a crazy woman. It's fun. You can be creative. The water gives good resistance, plus the added benifit of
no weight on the joints!!! *THE CREATOR OF PANDORA WENT FROM WHEEL IN 1988 TO CLIMBING OUT THE DEEP END OF THE POOL (FOUR TIMES) IN 1999.

MAJOR DUH!!! I MENT TO SAY WHEEL CHAIR!!! GEESH, I MADE IT SOUND AS IF I WERE A HAMSTER!! HA!-HA! I CRACK 'ME' UP! ('REALLY' HAVE BEEN
CELIBRATING ALLLLLL DAY...STARTED W/A MUMOSA (SP?) bubbely & o.j.! Now
that's what we consider in these parts, HEALTH FOOD! *Pandora wishes her 'maker' would install the word check program for Mac, p.'d off that she appears ahhh, what would the word be...??? Oh, Yeah...STUPID.

Gwennie Posted May 7, 2000
It's okay, Phil - I don't do step classes because I've got two left feet! Most of my time was spent trying to keep up so now I just stick to what I know (weights, Yoga and running). I used to swim a lot, but find a pool incredibly boring since my hubby showed me the delights of a snorkel and fins. The trouble is, the sea is too cold and polluted in the North East of England so the last time I had a real play was years ago when we lived in New Zealand.
For a minute there, until I read you second posting, Pandora I did think that you were having delusions of hamsterhood! I almost got a nibble stick for you!
*Gwennie wonders whether you can really get healthy and low calorie Mumosa?*
Indegestion?
Pandora Posted May 8, 2000
Sure you can!!! It's all to do with AMOUNTS involved! After scuba diving I thought I'd never enjoy a pool either! However, you otta' see me go 'round & 'round with my fins & snorkel! Had to keep the things for diving to the bottom to clear away cucka from the deep end!
And...I've been known to put huge shells & other items of interest in the pool to play with! Mainly, I just crank up the CD & hang onto the ladder in the deep end & jump, one foot to the other, up & down. Last Summer I lost an entire dress size without meaning to! Hence my new waist size. Guess that's why I went a 'bit' nuts over the cake. *CAKE?
PANDY'S EYES ARE GETTING 'THAT' LOOK*

Phil Posted May 8, 2000
I'm not sure what I was suggesting. I just wanted to point out that for many women, doing step training or using a steper doesn't have quite the desired outcome. Mainly due to it exercising the biggest muscle in your body, your bum

Pandora Posted May 8, 2000
'sqooze me, Master Phil, robber of ribbons...but MY BIGGEST MUSCLE IS MY BRAIN!!! *wonders if Phil now thinks she has a humongus head...thinks about it for a moment & decides she dose'nt give a rat's tail* Speaking of tails...I happen to have a rather NICE tail!!!
It's just on the VERY end of my cat! Oh, I tink I'm sooo funny!
)( <------ your tail, ~~~~~ <---- precious' tail
MY 'TALE' IS LONG AND FULL OF THINGS YOU'D NEVER BELIEVE!!!

Gwennie Posted May 11, 2000
Hey Pandora! Apart from having lots of cakes, you have your own POOL? *Starts to become very green and envious*
Indegestion?
Pandora Posted May 12, 2000
NOW DEAR, DON'T BE THAT WAY...DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY HEADS I HAD TO SHRINK TO EARN WHAT I HAVE?!? NOT TO MENTION ALL THE SCHOOLING! YUCK!
I FINALLY HAVE MY 'DREAM HOME' AND MOSTLY IT'S BEEN A NIGHTMARE!!!
LOGS DON'T JUST GROW ON TREES YA' KNOW!...WELL, OKAY, LOGS ARE TREES,
BUT IT ISN'T EASY STACKING THEM JUST RIGHT SO YOU CAN LIVE IN THEM.
ALSO, I COULD'NT FIND ANYONE TO BUILD THE POOL INSIDE...SO, I ONLY GET TO USE IT A FEW MONTHS OUT OF THE WHOLE YEAR! HOPE THAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER... You can come camp and swim and fish ANYtime you want!!!

Gwennie Posted May 13, 2000
*Starts to think about pools and putting the red light back over her front door again in order to get some additional income*
Our garden isn't even big enough! We'd have to do away with the garage and I don't think my hubby would like his motorcycles being evicted! Mind you, he DID evict our car from the garage to work on one of his bikes recently and I'm still waiting to be able to put it away at night (the car that is!).

Pandora Posted May 13, 2000
POOR VEGAN VAMPIRE...AT LEAST THE BIKE IS'NT IN YOUR LIVING ROOM!!!
THE RED LIGHT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA...YOU COULD GET A SMALL ABOVE GROUND POOL AND DIG IT REALLY DEEP! A FRIEND DID THAT VERY THING. AND
THEN HE BUILT A BENCH ALL THE WAY AROUND THE POOL. IT LOOKED LIKE A KIDDIE POOL, BUT IT WAS VERY DEEP AND ONLY COST HIM SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!! HIS BIKE, HOWEVER, WAS IN THEIR LIVING ROOM! ;-(

Gwennie Posted May 13, 2000
Too late, I'm afraid. I've bits of recently painted ZX10 dangling and drying them selves from our mantleshelf in the living room. Then there's the toolboxes, the wheel he's been working on, paints, tyres...... You name it. This is all inbetween 2 kids and their toys, 3 dogs, 5 cats and building materials (we're renovating our 100 year old house). Somewhere, in the centre of all this is my "pool" of calm, where I have my 'puter although I have to push the cats off the keyboard from time to time...
I've also had his motorcycle in the utility room for the winter before now until our pet rabbit chewed the stand and a couple of cables!

Pandora Posted May 13, 2000
Hmmmm. That's a very unique decorating style!!! I moved out of a Victorian to live in this pile of logs. I still haven't sold it. I'm not sure what I'm waiting for. But before I moved here, the dining room looked like, and was called:the warehouse! I've found THE ONLY way to keep the cats off the keyboard (when I'm using it) is to put a bowl of Slim Fast on the cedar table next to my station!!! If you know a way to keep them off, PLEASE let me know!!! Sometimes when I awaken, Mac is on and there's a bunch of letters typed on the screne!
If Precious ever learns how to send e-mail...I'm done for!!!
The REAL question is: Do You like to/get to ride?!? I LOVE it!!!
Indegestion?
Phil Posted May 13, 2000
I'd love to be able to ride#, but I can't
Had some of Aendrs cake earlier today and man, scrummy stuff. Much praise to the hat wearing cake baking one!

Gwen Posted May 15, 2000
No, I've never been on the back of my hubby's motorcycles! They're always in some state of repair or just being tinkered with! The latest addition was bought on the grounds that if he got a newer bike, it would be road-ready and he wouldn't have to spend lots on it....... Pull the other one, it's got Big Ben on it!
He had his "new" ZX10 less than an hour before it was dismantled and a "shopping list" was being made for all the bits he needed! I know the bike was in good condition, other wise John wouldn't have bought it... Things like changing the colour of bits and pieces don't have anything to do with the mechanics of it, after all...
I'd be better off giving him the kids' K'nex or Leggo to play with!

Pandora Posted May 16, 2000
You, my dear, must have nerves of steel! If a man won't cook and clean...or at least hire someone for it...he's history! The fellow upstairs (Bear) keeps saying I'm spoiled. I keeping tellin him; I pick up my feet when you come by with the sweeper-what more could you want?
The last time I lived w/a man he had coustody of his 9yr old twins...
one of each. The 1st thing I did was teach them how to do their own laundry! I had servants there...but he was such a rat I could only put up w/him 7 or 8 years! (I hated to leave the house boy )
Indegestion?
Gwen Posted May 17, 2000
Servants? House boy? Gosh! *Gwennie dreams what it would be like and sports a stupid, vacant grin*
My very Victorian parents trained me too well and I'm still only just breaking the habbits of my up-bringing by not doing the housework every day. (My 'puter helps to distract me though!)
Oh, I wouldn't swap John for anything and would still marry him again tomorrow. (He's number two hubby btw - I traded my first one in for a younger model!) John is so funny, loves me to bits and he's just like a little boy with his "boys toys" (motorcycles)... Unfortunately, John's been ill for the past five years, but he still manages to renovate our old house in between bouts of illness and when we can afford it, so I can hardly begrudge him a few hours/days/weeks tinkering with his bikes...
Indegestion?
Pandora Posted May 23, 2000
Pure heart of gold you have there. Sorry John is'nt well. It's a bitch not being able to do things you've always done. I was stricken with this stupid muscle disease in '89. Bear refuses to leave my side. When I 'm (what I call: down for the count) very ill, I feel baddly for Bear. He'd do anything for me-poor sap! He dosen't mind all the fellows coming by. He's glad that I'm not left alone when he's asleep or working. Says it's wonderful I'm so loved!
I only have a few lady friends. Most women are backbiting witches.
I've always had men friends - bunches of them!
Bear is making noises about buying a Harley. He broke his leg, in a major way when he was about 20. Rode his bike into a ditch, Still has a rod in, from his butt down to his knee! He's 36 now, & rarely drinks. He would never party & ride...the cause of the 1st bike wreck!
The Dr. confirmed that I have lung diease. No kidding...here's your $
thanks for telling me what I already knew! Good thing Bear dosen't understand much about medical things, I'm afraid he'd be really freaked!
It's amazing : he's sooo smart about cars, bikes, electric, etc. but a total dim-whit with regard to medical things! Ahh, just as well. I just had my will done. He'll be sitting pretty when I kick!
I best get to writting. I have a series of children's stories waiting to 'come out'. As well as a screen play from THE best book I've ever read- a true story: Follow The River. If you get a chance please read it! It really proves what a woman can do! I have a friend whos wife is a producer for the TV show Touched by an Angle, do you know the program? Her name is Rosey Welch, if you ever see the show you might find her name, sometimes they use her story ideas. So, That might be my 'way in' with regard to a script being read. I also knew Val Kilmer (an actor) several years ago. Bear did'nt like me talking to Val all the time, so I let him slide by. About a year later we were watching a movie & Bear says,"There's your boyfriend!" I said, Huh?"
That's when I saw Val on TV for the 1st time! I'd met him through one of the guys in Humble Pie (do you know the group?). I use to be in a band, We played alot of 'warm ups' before the 'real' band would play.
I've met alot of 'stars'. Who, to me, are just guys! But Bear gets a thrill out of it!
Take care deary, I'll keep up once I get over this crummy flu! Pan
